The day Salina ends we head north to Idaho for a rally starting the next day!
It’s not the fanciest of rallies and it has been struggling for the last couple years but we never miss going to Driggs, Idaho to be a part of their summer festival. They do what they can for the pilots but we go back every year for the valley itself. Not only is it a beautiful place but the atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming with tons of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. When we got word that they had cancelled the rally for this year we talked with the local pilot and company owner, Margaret, and she said she was working on it. We eventually got word that the rally was on although not very big and they may not be able to cover many of our expenses. But the Teton River is there for floating on, trails to be hiked and there are lots of great places to eat and many of them have patios for the Danes.
Truthfully we would go and fly anyway, summer wouldn’t be the same without spending some time in Teton Valley. If you are in the area come on by and support the rally and a big thanks to Virginia Powell Symons, Margaret Rose Breffeilh and Candy Davis for getting things organized this year.
