OK, I admit to being way, way behind in blogging. Our third rally was the summer festival in Teton Valley, Idaho over the 4th of July. We decided to arrive early to help the organizers with the preparations for the other 11 balloons coming in. The pilot welcome dinner is held at the balloonmeister’s house featuring burgers donated by TWR, a local organic ranch. Flights started on July 3rd and continued for 4 days with great weather for all of them.
After flying on the 4th we floated the Teton River with some other pilots and crew.
The Driggs balloon glow was too windy for the balloons so a few pilots candlesticked to show the crowds the burners in addition to a walk-in balloon, live band and dance performances by the Teton Dance Academy.
The following evening, Victor also hosted an event with a balloon candlestick, poker run and chalk art contest.
After the final morning of flying the organizers, crew and anyone else still around hit the Teton River for a celebratory float on any type of vessel people could scrounge up.
