Not entirely surprising but we left a day late which meant we had a marathon 13 hours on the road to get from San Diego to Salina, Utah in time for pilot check-in of the first of 7 rallies this summer. Weather held for 2 of the 3 days of flying but it is always a bit of a shock to our systems going from the June gloom, marine layer filled days of upper 60 degrees, to the sunny upper 90 degrees of Utah.
Our sponsors had a great time on Friday and Ernie flew the hopper on Saturday.
As with most rallies the glow was the star of the show so the fast winds on Sunday were not a huge disappointment with 2 successful days already completed.
After Salina it we were off to Red Canyon for some camping and what I thought would be catching up on sleep and blogging but that was not to be.
