Having taken this image to a photo club salon I received some helpful critique suggestions.  One of them was to remove the distracting bush at the bottom of the frame.

Below is a quick video, sorry no audio, comparing the results of using the erase tool all at once versus masking and erasing in sections.  When the bush is erased in one move there is some obvious artifact-ing at the edge of the erased area.

By erasing in sections the software does a much better job of matching and replacing the cliff.





Another tip is that if you don’t like the result from the erase algorithm, if you backup to have the selection visible and erase again the software will come up with a different result.
